A politician visits a remote Native American community, accompanied by news crews. He asks the chief about the people's needs.
"Well," says the chief, "we have three important needs.
1. Medical Care:
We have a medical clinic, but no doctor."
The politician takes out his phone, dials a number, speaks for two minutes, and hangs up.
"I've pulled some strings. A doctor will arrive in a few days."
"What's the second problem?"
2. Clean Water:
"We have no access to clean water. The local mining operation has poisoned the water our people have relied on for thousands of years. We've been flying in bottled water, which is extremely expensive."
The politician dials another number, speaks urgently for a few minutes, then hangs up.
"The mine has been shut down, and the owner is being billed for setting up a purification plant for your community."
"What's the third problem?"
3. Cell Reception:
"We have no cell phone reception here," the chief says.
